Working together to provide the highest quality care!
Who are we?
Claudia Sykes - Director and Principal Psychologist
Hi there, I'm Claudia!
I am a Registered Psychologist and Advanced Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with extensive experience supporting individuals with disabilities and mental health concerns. I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the University of Wollongong where I completed my thesis studying the attachment between mothers and their children. Throughout my education and post-graduate career, I gained experience in several community mental health and disability positions working with individuals of all ages. Through my work as a school counsellor and volunteering at Headspace, I gained a particular interest working with children and young people.
Having worked as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner and Psychologist for more than six years, I have developed a passion for assisting individuals using a person centred approach. I have experience supporting people with complex mental health, forensic and behavioural needs, and have helped individuals navigate difficulties such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, BPD, ADHD, OCD, eating disorders, bullying, learning difficulties, relationship breakdowns, impaired social skills, and low self-esteem. I am also proficient in training support teams, families and stakeholders in strategies and person centred care. Prior to establishing Together Care Australia, I supported a team of more than 150 practitioners and psychologists where I was responsible for their training and clinical practice.
I established Together Care Australia in 2025 with the aim of assisting people to achieve their goals and improve their overall wellbeing and functioning. I believe that everyone, regardless of their diagnoses and functional capacity, deserves to live a meaningful and fulfilling life! Having worked in the disability industry for so long, I understand how many different stakeholders are often involved in one participants support network. Thus, I have found that collaborating with each person and working together towards common goals is the best way of assisting participants to achieve their happiest self.
I can't wait to get to know you!
Why choose Together Care Australia?
Small Provider: Together Care Australia is a small provider meaning that we can give our fullest attention to you and your servicing needs without delay or interruption. This allows us to really get to know you and your supports, and take our time working together on common goals.
Reduced Handovers and Turnover: We understand how frustrating it can be to start new with different practitioners and explain your needs over and over. Thus, being a small provider reduces the likelihood of numerous handovers due to internal staff turnover or rapid growth. Instead, we aim to provide you with the same practitioner for the duration of your servicing to allow you to develop a strong working relationship and to promote servicing consistency.
Local Provider: Together Care Australia is also a local provider meaning that we only service clients in the Sutherland Shire and St George areas. This allows us to really understand your environment and how this may be impacting you. We can also link you with additional community supports so that you have the best chance of meeting your goals. This includes local Day Programs and other NDIS providers who we have worked with first hand and know well.
Less Travel: Being a local provider also means that we will incur less travel for NDIS appointments. This allows us to utilise your funding for appointments and other important activities, rather than on travel expenses!
Our Values
Together is best.
Whether you are receiving NDIS or private services, we will always strive to work together with you and/or any supports you may have to ensure a harmonious and stress-free collaboration.
It’s all about you.
You and your needs will always be put first! We don't believe in a 'one fits all' approach. Instead, we will work with you using person-centred strategies and tailored intervention to suit your goals.
Communication and feedback.
We are a big believer in open communication and aim to be as transparent and responsive as possible. To promote positive relationships, we are always very happy to receive feedback or suggestions on how we can improve our servicing.
You can count on us.
Whether it's an urgent report or fast-approaching NDIS deadline, we have you covered! We pride ourselves on delivering effective and efficient servicing without skipping important steps.
Quality matters.
Although we work efficiently, we will never substitute quality over quantity. We are constantly reviewing relevant research and reflecting on our services to ensure our servicing and intervention is the best possible quality.
Compassion and belonging.
We aim to promote a sense of belonging through our servicing by recognising and validating your experiences. We have a passion for helping others overcome adversity and feel a genuine excitement when we see people achieving their goals.
